About the Riding Coaches

lyn and iOur instructors hold current or are currently undertaking qualifications and certification with the NCAS Equestrian Australia National Coaching Program.

Leanne Philpott: the proprietor and manager of Hills and Hollows, has been involved in teaching for over 20 years.

During the 1990’s, Leanne was a Lecturer in Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales and held a Masters of Environmental Engineering.

After a sea change in 2002 when she had children, Leanne started to breed ponies, break in and train ponies, and to undertake her lyn leaNCAS Instructors and Pony Club Preliminary Instructors Qualifications. She holds a current NCAS Equestrian Australia Introductory Coaching Qualification and current First Aid.

For more than 15 years she has managed and instructed every class at Hills and Hollows as well asInstructing at the Oaks Pony Club.

Lynda Philpott: is an advisor and trainer for the Hills and Hollows coaching program. She has spent the last 30 years riding, training and breeding dressage horses. She obtained her Level 1 as a National Equestrian Coach with Equestrian Australia in the late 1990s and has continued to coach, train, compete and ride since this time.

Prior to this Lynda developed a highly advanced knowledge of teaching and coaching as she completed the highest level possible of ski instructing possible in Australia and all 5 levels of coaching in Canada. She was highly successful in her ski instructing career and launched, coordinated and ran the Thredbo Woman Program as well as voted most requested instructor on the mountain at Blackcomb Mountain for numerous consistent years.

Luke Moore: Luke has worked at Hills and Hollows for more than 5 years. He has jumped courses above 1.10m and competed at national championships in showjumping.

Luke rode at pony club for over 10 years and then moved to private lessons with showjumping legend and Olympian George Sanna for over 2 years. More recently Luke has started coaching advanced and beginner groups.

Luke has a strong bond with all of the horses and ponies at Hills and Hollows and has been involved in their training and care for 15 years.

 

 

Jorja Horne: Jorja has worked full time at Hills and Hollows for 2 years and has been an assistant instructor for 1 year. Jorja is currently undertaking Equiskills towards her EA Coaching qualification. Jorja has completed her Certificate III in Performance Horse with TAFE NSW, the course lasts for 18 months and includes the care and training of performance horses as well as basic farriery, development of horse welfare skills, right down to how to halter and lead a horse. Jorja has been working with horses for the past 4 years, in the racing industry and then with Hills and Hollows. Jorja is also a qualified First Aid Responder. 

 

 

 

Emily Moore: Emily has had a successful showjumping career riding to Juniors and competing at Australian and NSW Championships to  1m 30.   Emily has worked as an Instructor at numerous riding schools including Eastside at Centennial Park and Rosthwaite in the highlands. She has worked in placements at showjumping stables including the successful competition riders George Sanna and Sarah Mc Millan. Emily was a successful competitive rider throughout her early years at pony club and then on the showjumping circuit working her way through the levels to 1’30 when she paused to attend Sydney university. Emily initiated and ran the competition team at Hills and Hollows including taking 24 kids overnight with horses to Interschool events enabling young riders to win ribbons and championships with the teams school taking out the overall championship. Emily has a strong bond with each and every pony and horse at Hills and Hollows and has been involved in their training and care.
